One person remains in hospital with serious injuries as investigators appeal for dashcam footage and witnesses following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 43.

Police are appealing for information from the public as they investigate a serious two-vehicle crash near Toko that left one person in hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to the crash on State Highway 43 near the intersection of Skinner Rd about 6pm on Tuesday.

In a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, Detective Sergeant Chris Allemann, of the Taranaki Criminal Investigation Branch, said investigators were seeking information to help establish the circumstances of the crash.

One person remained in hospital with serious injuries.

Police are asking anyone who saw a black 2005 Mazda Tribute station wagon or a white 2002 Holden Barina travelling in or around Stratford, or on State Highway 43, around the time of the crash to come forward.

Investigators are also seeking CCTV and dashcam footage from the area.

“Taranaki Police investigating a serious crash in Toko yesterday are appealing to the public for information to assist our enquiries,” Allemann said.

Police would also like to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken with officers.

Police have not released further details about the circumstances of the crash or the condition of the injured person.
