Fog shrouds Auckland Airport, sparking flight cancellations

Fog has caused cancellations to flights at Auckland Airport on Thursday morning.

Restrictions were put in place at 3.05am, and have seen 18 regional flights cancelled.

Main trunk domestic flights to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown are operating as scheduled.

International arrivals and departures have not been affected.

The fog is also thick across the central city, with driving visibility relatively low.

Passengers are being urged to check Auckland Airport’s website for the latest arrival and departure information before travelling, as conditions can change throughout the morning.
