The details for each of the 149 projects on the ‘fast track’ list

The Government has revealed a massive, 149-project list of developments it wants to get fast-tracked resource consents.
The list includes quarries, solar farms, housing and much, much more, with projects across the country.
The Opposition and environmental groups called it an irresponsible plan that could “wreak havoc” on the environment.
Green Party environment spokesperson Lan Pham said the “potentially worthy projects” in the list were a distraction from greater environmental harm that could be caused.
While Labour’s David Parker, the architect of the Covid-19 Fast Track process, said this bill went too far.
“This time it is different – environmental protections under the Resource Management Act, the Conservation Act, the Wildlife Act and the Mining Act can and will be overridden. There is no credible explanation for conferring those wide powers to override those Acts,” he said.
But Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop said it would shave years of paperwork off worthwhile developments.
“These are things on this list that are controversial, there’s no doubt about that. But I just make this point to you, as I said before, moments ago, we are in a recession. We have been for two years. We have been a low growth economy,” he said.
This list includes 19 mines and quarries, including iron sands seabed mining, and also even marine farms, more than 160 kilometres of roads and railways, and even a roof for Eden Park Stadium.
