Arrest made in alleged burglary at Appleby Complex

A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged with burglary and is due to appear at the Invercargill District Court on Thursday April 16.

Police received reports of an attempted burglary at the former Appleby Tavern on Nith St in Invercargill on Thursday.

A police spokesperson said they received a report about 10.10am of an attempted burglary.

The venue was formerly owned by the Invercargill Licensing Trust and was the home to the Appleby Tavern.

However The Appleby Complex is now operated at the venue, which is part owned by the Southland Darts Association.
