Jeff Wilson reckons the stars of Super Bowl LVIII will be Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Brock Purdy and pop sensation, Taylor Swift, Kelce’s girlfriend.

Wilson, an All Blacks legend who loves American football, spoke on the brand new Newsable Sport segment, brought to you by Sky.

He said interest in the Super Bowl was always huge, but even more so this year, thanks to Swift’s passionate support of Kelce. Swift raced from a show in Tokyo to Las Vegas to be in the crowd for the game between the NFL defending champion Chiefs and the 49ers (on Monday from 12.30pm NZT).

Wilson gave his predictions for the game against two teams that were “underdogs” at the start of the season and said picking a winner was tough.

He predicted, whatever happened, Swift would be the centre of attention.

“I would say you’ll see more of her than you might even see of the boyfriend [Kelce]. I mean, this is the biggest storyline going into this, is the fact that you’ve got probably the world’s biggest performer right now who’s there as a spectator on the world’s biggest stage watching her boyfriend go out there and compete. It’s going to be a big part of it,” Wilson said.

You can watch Super Bowl 58 live on ESPN (Sky channel 60), or stream on Sky Sport Now, from 12pm Monday.

Also during the segment, Wilson picked who he thought the winners would be at the Halberg Awards, celebrating New Zealand sporting achievements, happening on Wednesday.
