Recap: Black Caps vs South Africa - second test, day four in Hamilton

Friday, 16 February 2024

History beckons New Zealand’s cricketers at Seddon Park on Friday.

Thanks to a nine-wicket haul on test debut by seamer Will O’Rourke, the Black Caps are chasing 267 for victory over South Africa in the second test.

At stumps on day three, the hosts were 40-1 after the departure of under-pressure opener Devon Conway, who was lbw to Dane Piedt for 17 in the day’s final over.

Tom Latham (21 not out) will be joined by the in-form Kane Williamson with two full days to reach their target.

Never have the Black Caps won a test cricket series against South Africa. The sides first met nearly 100 years ago, in the 1931-32 season.
