After a Tim Southee double strike, the hosts need a wicket flurry on Saturday to get back in the first cricket test at the Basin Reserve.

At stumps on the second day in Wellington, Australia were 13-2 in their second innings, a lead of 217 with Usman Khawaja and Nathan Lyon resuming.

Saturday’s MetService forecast is for mainly fine weather, with occasional showers late in the day and strong winds.
