Recap: All Blacks team naming for Scotland test in Edinburgh
Thursday, 6 November 2025
All Blacks coach Scott Robertson will reveal his team to play Scotland this weekend at 9pm on Thursday (NZT).
Stuff will have live coverage of the team naming from 8pm.
Changes are guaranteed after injuries to captain Scott Barrett and vice-captain Jordie Barrett, who will miss the rest of the tour.
Scott Robertson couldn’t be faulted for wondering if someone armed with a voodoo doll is out to get the All Blacks.
Indeed, the injuries just keep on flowing for the second year All Blacks coach, who can add vice-captain Jordie Barrett (knee/ankle) to the list of players whose season is over.
Captain Scott Barrett (gash to the leg) will at least miss the Scotland test, leaving rookie Fabian Holland (10 tests) as the most capped lock left standing in the squad.
The Barretts join an injury ward which already featured 10 players unavailable for selection when Robertson named his 36-man squad for their tilt at the Grand Slam.
That included key players such as Patrick Tuipulotu, Tupou Vaa’i and Tyrel Lomax, as well as the likes of Noah Hotham, Emoni Narawa and Asafo Aumua.
It means changes are a given when Robertson names his team to face a Scotland team brimming with confidence ahead of what many are saying is their best shot at breaking their duck against the All Blacks.
