NZ Rugby has announced Dave Rennie as the next All Blacks coach.
In a social media post, the All Blacks said “Nau mai, haere mai. Welcome Coach.”
Rennie takes the top job at the All Blacks after predecessor Scott Robertson lost the role with his contract cut short in January.
Rennie, who is of Cook Islands descent through his mother (Titikaveka, Rarotonga), becomes the first All Blacks head coach with Pasifika heritage.
The 62-year-old coached Super Rugby side the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Rugby titles in 2012 and 2013, and also took the Glasgow Warriors to a Pro14 Final in 2019.
Most recently Rennie had been coaching in Japan where he was with professional side the Kobe Steelers.
