Colombia goal eliminates Ghana and books knockout clash with Switzerland at FIFA World Cup

Colombia were backed by huge support in Kansas City and beat Ghana 1-0 in their round-of-32 clash at the FIFA World Cup on Saturday (NZ time).

Jhon Arias gave the South American team an early lead and Luis Diaz was denied their second goal after straying offside.

The African side rarely threatened and were knocked out after struggling to push for an equaliser to force extra-time.

Colombia will face Switzerland in the round of 16 in Vancouver next Wednesday (NZ time).
