They help people see New Zealand and the world but where do they go in their own time?
We ask people in the travel industry about the way they travel and their favourite parts of New Zealand.
This week we talk to Stephen Bradley, general manager of LyLo Queenstown which provides a range of accommodation options for all ages from sleeping pods to private or family rooms.
What is your best travel tip?
Stay at places with great communal areas as the tips and conversations you get from other travellers will always unlock the most magical adventures and memories.
For the planning stages of your trip, AI can also be useful. Giving it the details and your family’s interests and let it make great suggestions around what to do and how to get there.
Where was your first overseas trip?
Like many Kiwis, it started with a family trip across the ditch to the Gold Coast.
Aisle or window seat?
I’m a sleeper so it’s window all day long.
Must-have song on your road trip playlist?
My children normally hijack my playlist, but if I sneak a song in it would be U2 Beautiful Day.
What’s one thing you can’t travel without?
My wife. It’s about making memories.
Where is your favourite New Zealand destination and why?
Whitianga. We love the sand, warmth and welcoming locals.
What’s your favourite thing to do in your local area?
A night at Glenorchy, a game of golf and a quick fish in the lake.
