Retirement income is critical to New Zealand's future and the country needs an honest conversation about meaningful reform, ANZ NZ boss Antonia Watson told a key event on the issue.

Watson made the comments at Future Proofing NZ: The Great Retirement Funding Crunch, hosted by The Post alongside ANZ and Infrastructure NZ.

The event aimed to address the “retirement funding crunch“ as a defining issue for the upcoming election in November.

Also providing perspectives were National deputy leader Nicola Willis and ANZ Group chief economist Richard Yetsinger, while exclusive Freshwater Strategy polling was presented by Tim Hurdle. The event was moderated by The Post’s Andrea Vance and Luke Malpass.
