Hawai’i’s Maoli will bring his signature country reggae sound back to Wellington this summer, headlining Island Vibes at Waitangi Park on Thursday, January 8.

Following a sold-out stadium show earlier this year, frontman Glen Awong and his band will perform three outdoor concerts across Aotearoa, with Wellington kicking off the tour.

“Maoli is absolutely beloved in New Zealand and we are beyond excited to have him back for such an iconic run of shows,” said Trademark Live co-director Mitch Lowe.

The Waitangi Park show promises a massive summer celebration in one of the city’s most iconic waterfront spaces.

“We are combining idyllic central city parks with Maoli’s high-energy country reggae sound to create three unforgettable concerts. NZ reggae fans are in for an incredible experience this summer,” said co-director Toby Burrows.

Maoli’s new album Last Sip of Summer – Island Vibe dropped in October, setting the stage for what organisers say will be his biggest Aotearoa shows yet. With hundreds of millions of streams and sold-out shows worldwide, Maoli’s blend of reggae, soul and R&B has struck a chord across the Pacific.

Maoli’s Island Vibes tour continues after Wellington with two more outdoor concerts: Hagley Park in Christchurch on Friday January 9, and Victoria Park in Auckland on Saturday January 10. Each venue will be transformed into a summer celebration, soundtracked by one of the Pacific’s most powerful voices
