Burst pipe delays traffic in central Wellington

Traffic on State Highway 1 in central Wellington is down to one lane following a drinking water pipe burst.

On Thursday afternoon contractors were diverting traffic on Vivian St, as ankle-deep water gushed onto the road and pavement.

Wellington Water said its contractors isolated the broken drinking pipe and started repairs, and odd numbered properties between 39-81 and 46-66 Vivian St were affected.
