The ministers in New Zealand’s 54th Parliament

After weeks of negotiations, New Zealand has a new Government. There are 20 positions in Cabinet, 14 of which are National MPs, while NZ First and ACT have three each. Outside of Cabinet, there will be five ministers from National, two from ACT and one from NZ First. ACT and NZ First have one Parliamentary Under-Secretary each. National MP Gerry Brownlee will be nominated as Speaker.
Here’s who has the top ministerial jobs:
Christopher Luxon (National): Prime Minister, National Security and Intelligence.
Winston Peters (NZ First): Deputy Prime Minister for the first half of the three-year Parliamentary term, Foreign Affairs and Racing.
David Seymour (ACT): Deputy Prime Minister for the second half of the term, Regulation.
Nicola Willis (National):Finance, Public Service, Social Investment.
Chris Bishop (National): Housing, Infrastructure, RMA Reform, Sport and Leader of the House.
Shane Reti (National): Health, Pacific Peoples.
Brooke van Velden (ACT): Internal Affairs, Workplace Relations.
Shane Jones (NZ First): Ocean and fisheries, Regional Development, Resources.
Simeon Brown (National): Energy, Local Government, Transport, Auckland, Deputy leader of the House
Erica Stanford (National): Education, Immigration..
Paul Goldsmith (National): Justice, SOEs, Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations, Arts and Culture.
Louise Upston (National): Social Development and Employment, Child Poverty reduction.
Judith Collins (National): Attorney-General, Defence, GCSB, NZSIS, Innovation and technology.
Mark Mitchell (National): Corrections, Emergency Management, Police.
Todd McClay (National): Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting and Fishing, Trade.
Tama Potaka (National): Conservation, Māori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti, Māori Development, Whānau Ora.
