Former mayor, broadcaster Michael Laws to stand for NZ First in upcoming election

Former Whanganui mayor Michael Laws will stand for NZ First in the upcoming election.

Laws will stand in the Waitaki electorate.

He started his political career in the 1990s, first as an MP for the National Party before defecting to NZ First in 1996.

Laws has since served on the Otago Regional Council and been a broadcaster.
