Kite Day 2024 saw an immense turnout as thousands took to New Brighton beach with sails of all shapes and sizes.

Beach-goers of all ages enjoyed the fun, including Swedish ten-year-old Zack MacKenzie and his four-year-old cousin Hank O’Loughlin.

The sunny Saturday saw a high of 25.9C. A peak wind gust of 46kph propelled giant whales and dragons into the air over an extremely low tide.
