When All Whites defender Finn Surman bulleted a header into the goal at New Zealand’s second Fifa World Cup match against Egypt, Kiwi fans lost their marbles.
The Christchurch-raised 22-year-old rose above his marker to meet Tim Payne’s cross in the 15th minute, sending the ball soaring past the Egyptian goalkeeper..
Jordan Anngow, 18, captured the moment on video, which sent the supporters into a screaming frenzy.
It was Surman’s third international goal.
Surman started his football journey at the Rolleston-based Selwyn United FC club as a 10-year-old, before going on to play for Portland Timbers in the American Major League Soccer.
