Police have carried out a scene examination at a Christchurch motel after a woman’s body was found there in unexplained circumstances.
Emergency services were called to the property on Colombo St at about 3.20am on Saturday morning to reports that a woman was unresponsive.
She was unable to be revived.
On Sunday afternoon, Detective Senior Sergeant Dan Overend said police had now completed their examination at the motel.
“The investigation team continues to make inquiries and has been working to establish and trace the movements of the deceased prior to her arrival at the motel,” he said.
“One person, identified yesterday, continues to assist us with our inquiries.”
A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Monday.
“At this stage, police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the death, which continues to be treated as unexplained.”
