60yo Picton woman among five arrested in operation targeting drug dealers

Five people have been arrested on serious drugs charges, one charged with 30 offences, after a series of search warrants executed across Marlborough.
The searches were part of Operation Aisling which targeted the supply of methamphetamine and the class B controlled drug fantasy in Marlborough.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Brent said the Marlborough and Nelson Bays Organised Crime Units worked together with help from the Offender Prevention Team, in a district-wide operation to find and take enforcement action against those who obtained and sold drugs.
On Tuesday police arrested a 38-year-old woman in Blenheim and charged her with 30 offences including possession of GBL for supply and possession of methamphetamine for supply. She was due to appear at the Blenheim District Court on Wednesday.
A 42-year-old man arrested in Spring Creek faced 11 charges including importation of fantasy and dealing methamphetamine. He was also due to appear in court on Wednesday.
Another man at the same property was charged with possessing cocaine. He was due to appear in the Blenheim District Court on September 16.
On Wednesday, police executed three more search warrants.
A 60-year-old woman was charged with possession for supply of methamphetamine and dealing methamphetamine, and was due to appear in Blenheim District Court on Thursday.
A 35-year-old man in Blenheim was arrested and charged with 17 offences, of offering to supply methamphetamine, supplying methamphetamine, offering to supply cannabis, possessing methamphetamine for supply, dealing methamphetamine, possession of fantasy, and possession of methamphetamine for supply.
Brent said police had no tolerance for this type of offending, and officers would continue to collaborate and investigate the importation and supply of illicit drugs and substances in the Marlborough area.
“Investigations will continue, and police do not rule out further arrests,” she said.
“Anyone with information on the importation or supply of drugs is urged to call 111 for urgent offending that is happening now, or for non-urgent information you can contact 105, either online or over the phone.”
