One dead, three injured in three separate South Island crashes

One person has died and three more have been injured in three separate crashes across the South Island.
Emergency services were alerted to the first single-vehicle crash on Lindis Pass Rd, just past the summit lookout, about 2pm on Saturday. The driver was moderately injured, a police spokesperson said.
Shortly after 9pm that day, emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of the Geraldine-Fairlie Highway and Slacks Valley Rd in Pleasant Valley, near Geraldine.
One person died at the scene and a second was taken to hospital with moderate injuries, a spokesperson said.
The Serious Crash Unit attended and investigations were ongoing on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were then alerted to a single-vehicle crash on Caversham Valley Rd near Mornington Rd in Calton Hill, Dunedin, about 1.10am Sunday.
One person sustained serious injuries, a spokesperson said.
The road was closed overnight and reopened just before 9am on Sunday..
