The events will alternate between Taupō and Ruapuna through to 2028 under a new three-year agreement.

“We are thrilled to officially confirm the dates for our inaugural New Zealand double header,” Supercars chief executive Shane Howard said.

“April 2026 is set to be one of the biggest months in Supercars history.”

Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston said the timing is perfect to boost travel across the islands: “Having these two events on back-to-back weekends in April will really put tourism in the fast lane.”

Christchurch mayor Phil Mauger called Ruapuna’s inclusion a “massive moment” for the city, while Taupō District mayor David Trewavas said the return was a “major win” for the local community.

The events are expected to attract thousands of fans from across New Zealand and Australia. Ticketing and entertainment details will be announced later in 2025.
