Driver killed in Kinleith crash named

Police have named the man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Kinleith.

He was 29-year-old Tokoroa man Benjamin Eric Russell.

Emergency services were called to Kauri Rd about 3.40pm on June 17 after a vehicle left the road.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was found dead at the scene, police said on Thursday.

Kauri Rd was closed for several hours while the Serious Crash Unit examined the scene before reopening about 9.40pm Wednesday.

Police inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
