The family of a 29-year-old Tokoroa crash victim have paid tribute to their “devoted father, beloved son and treasured family member”.

Police today named Benjamin Eric Russell as the man who died in the crash on Kauri Road at Kinleith last Thursday.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and found dead at the scene.

In a Facebook post, Russell’s family said: “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Benjamin on 17 June 2026.”

Russell was described as the much-loved son of Sheree and Sefton, cherished grandson of Heather and Jenny, beloved brother of Kim, Sammy and Tim, and a treasured uncle and devoted father.

“Ben will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.”
