Lorde has commented on an Instagram post about her upcoming tour, perhaps dropping cryptic hints that it will include New Zealand after all.

Last week the singer announced the dates for her Ultrasound tour, which takes in North America, UK and Europe - but not Aotearoa or even Australia.

The Instagram post from OceaniaToday talking about the tour and the absence of New Zealand sparked a response from Lorde.

“Cam awwwwwwn now lol,” she wrote in the comments. Adding “Just the beginning.”

OceniaToday leapt on the comments, saying it seemed like a hint that she could drop by New Zealand after all.

Lorde has announced her fourth album Virgin would be released on June 27.

Lorde surprised fans in New York by performing at a pop-up concert in Washington Square Park — even after police tried to shut it down. The crowd went wild as she stepped up.

She premiered the first song What Was That at a fan event in Washington Square Park in New York, on April 23, that got shut down by police.

In a later message to fans, Lorde said she was going on tour in support of the new album, kicking off in September.

“Every show I play is a collaboration between you and me. We meet in a room and we make music together, our bodies and the machines in search of something bigger together.

“12 years of meeting up and making sound that's just for us. Since last time I've been stripping away unnecessary layers, finding us more room to move. I think that Ultrasound could be our masterpiece.”

Tickets were due to go on sale May 16, with the pre sale starting March 14.
