Driver fails to see the blindingly obvious

Friday, 11 October 2019

You know those big brightly coloured trucks with lots of flashing lights and big warning arrows that they use to do a rolling close of a lane on a motorway?

The really obvious and visible ones with the big crash absorbing attachments on the back that make you think 'do they really need that? Are there people stupid enough to actually miss all those lights and huge arrows flashing in their faces?'

Well, this video is proof that they do.

Seriously - how do you not see that?
Seriously - how do you not see that?

Reddit user glorybutt posted the video, titling it 'Getting some use out of my $20 Amazon dash cam' and they certainly seem to have got their money's worth out of it straight away, with this remarkable display of blatant stupidity.

The video shows a highway in the USA with a generic American people mover cruising along in the outside lane.

Off in the distance of the perfectly straight road is the obvious flash of one of those equally obvious trucks.

The people mover is sign written with 'Sharp Lines' on the side, but it clearly isn't a sharp operator behind the wheel, as they cruise obliviously straight towards the truck and all its flashing lights, before seemingly applying the brakes for quite some time, yet still managing to hit it…

Pay attention on the road, kids! Even the long, perfectly straight ones. And watch out for those sneaky huge trucks with lots of flashing lights too.
