Puna Wano-Bryant for Stuff’s series of oral essays ‘The Treaty and Me’.

A descendant of Parihaka, iwi advisor Puna Wano-Bryant was heavily involved in the recent reconciliation process with the Crown, which was made possible after Taranaki Tuturu postponed its Treaty talks to ensure the needs of the coastal settlement were addressed.

In her video essay for Stuff's Treaty and Me series, she says the Treaty is about harm and hope.

As a Christian Māori woman, the document to her means the blending of two peoples and two spiritualities.
