Lotto is bracing for a “unprecedented” surge in online ticket sales ahead of Wednesday’s $43 million Powerball draw.

The company warned customers to buy their tickets as early as possible from its website or app to avoid the last minute rush.

Shops with Lotto counters will need to follow the Government’s alert level guidelines.

As at 11.30am, the Lotto draw was expected to be broadcast on TVNZ 1 about 8.20pm as planned.

The Powerball jackpot jumped to $43m after no one scooped the $38m that was up for grabs last Saturday.
