Here’s the latest
In his post-Cabinet press conference, PM Christopher Luxon said “last week wasn't the perfect week,” in reference to National’s poor polling results.
National MPs spent the morning expressed their support for Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, after a shock political poll showed just 28.4% support for National on Friday.
But MPs have acknowledged that Friday’s poll led to a bit of chat, after what Paul Goldsmith called “a tough few weeks”.
Luxon wouldn’t answer questions on his way to Parliament on Monday, but he earlier denied speculation that he was considering his options.
Asked if Luxon’s position was tenable, ACT leader David Seymour said it “absolutely” was. ACT deputy leader Brooke van Velden said “Christopher Luxon is the Prime Minister”.
