They help people see New Zealand and the world but where do they go in their own time?
We ask people in the travel industry about the way they travel and their favourite parts of New Zealand.
This week, we speak with Angela Webber, New Zealand general manager for Globus. The company operates touring brands Globus and Cosmos, alongside the river cruise line Avalon Waterways, known for its unique cabins, diverse excursions and relaxing travel experience.
She lives in Auckland.
What is your best travel tip?
Do everything you want to do when you are there as you just don't know if you'll ever be there again.
Where was your first overseas trip?
Sydney for my sixth birthday - that's the first one I can remember anyway!
Aisle or window seat?
Definitely aisle - I like to be able to get up and walk around whenever I feel like it.
Must-have song on your road trip playlist?
Holiday by Madonna.
What’s one thing you can’t travel without?
My portable speaker.
Where is your favourite New Zealand destination and why?
That's a hard one! I was blown away by Stewart Island - the people, the landscape, incredible experiences like seeing kiwi on the beach and eating the most delicious crayfish at the local pub. It's a very special place.
What’s your favourite thing to do in your local area?
There are fantastic views from the top of Mount Wellington. After walking up there I like to follow it with a coffee at my local cafe or a beer at the pub in Ellerslie village.
