Ultra New Zealand reveals first round of headliners for Wellington
Tuesday, 23 December 2025
The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake and Oliver Heldens are among the first reveal of headliners released by Ultra New Zealand taking place for the first time next year.
Arguably the most recognisable brand in electronic dance music, the Miami-based Ultra Music Festival is set to be hosted in the capital next April.
Confirmed artists so far are The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Zedd, Darren Styles, Nico Moreno, Oliver Heldens, Marlo, and Miss Monique.
The next set of the line up will be dropped early next year with further well-known artists as well as international support acts and local artists.
The festival, taking place on the waterfront on Friday April 10, will be Ultra’s first New Zealand event and hosted exclusively in Wellington.
It will be a much-needed boost for the city following the loss this year of long-time waterfront event Homegrown.
New Zealand promoter Audiology Touring has partnered with Ultra Worldwide and WellingtonNZ to bring the festival to the city.
Founder Mitch Lowe said dance music artists of this calibre had not been brought together in New Zealand in a line‑up like this before.
“Ultra New Zealand is going to deliver a world-class festival experience right here in the capital. These are huge international acts that we wouldn’t normally be able to host.”
The majority of tickets were sold before the line‑up was announced, with the event already drawing a massive response, Lowe said.
WellingtonNZ events and experiences general manager Heidi Morton said dance music fans from every generation would be familiar with the headliners.
“This line-up is stacked full of renowned artists who play the world’s biggest festivals and events, but soon they’ll be playing right here on our doorstep. We know both locals and visitors will be eager to see these acts and they’ll be more accessible than ever,” Morton said.
“We encourage people to make a weekend of it – experience the world-class festival on Friday, then enjoy the best of what Wellington has to offer over the rest of the weekend.”
The one-day festival will feature EDM, house, techno, trance, drum and bass and bass music across four stages, plus a smaller stage dedicated to local artists.
It is expected to attract 20,000 music fans from around the country as well as Australia and Asia-Pacific.
